ShortBookandScribes ‘Instead of a Card’ Poetry Pamphlets from Candlestick Press
Years ago I remember sending one of Candlestick Press’s ‘Instead of a Card’ poetry pamphlets to my mum. I remember how lovely and original it was and so when Kathy Towers from Candlestick Press contacted me and asked if I would like to see some of their pamphlets for review I jumped at the chance. Thank you so much, Kathy!
I was sent Ten Poems for Autumn, Ten Poems About Sheep, Christmas Movies and Christmas Together, a lovely selection to peruse.
Each booklet comes with a matching bookmark, envelope and a sticker to seal the envelope flap. It’s all really good quality, with the cover and envelope on thick textured paper and the inside of the pamphlet on thick plain white paper. The poems inside are varied and beautiful, old and new, and I think any recipient would be pleased to receive one of these booklets. Most cost £4.95 plus P+P and make a lovely card and gift combined. There’s a large range to choose from, with subjects as varied as family members, bees, football, knitting, baking, London, revenge, and several for the festive season. There’s also a pamphlet to appeal to us bookworms, not poetry this time but a short tale called The All Night Bookshop. I also spotted one for Teachers which would make a lovely end of year gift.
I do recommend these pamphlets which would be a real treat to receive. You can find the full range and more information on the Candlestick Press website.
