ShortBookandScribes #BlogTour #Giveaway of Dangerous Women by Hope Adams

It’s my stop on the blog tour for Dangerous Women by Hope Adams and I’m delighted to be giving away a proof copy of the book today. All the details are below and it’s really easy to enter. My thanks to Gaby Young at Michael Joseph for the place on the tour and the copy of the book to giveaway.

London, 1841.

The Rajah sails for Australia.

On board are 180 women convicted of petty crimes, sentenced to start a new life half way across the world.

Daughters, sisters, mothers – they’ll never see home or family again. Despised and damned, all they have now is each other.

Until the murder.

As the fearful hunt for a killer begins, everyone on board is a suspect.

The investigation risks tearing their friendships apart . . .

But if the killer isn’t found, could it cost them their last chance of freedom?

Based on a real-life voyage, Dangerous Women is a sweeping tale of confinement, hope and the terrible things we do to survive.

  • I am desperate to read this because I’ve been hearing how wonderful it is! I love the concept of the female perspective too.

  • Keen to read this as I’m very intrigued it’s based on a real life voyage.

  • I have previously read Lily and also Out of the Dark by Adele Gervais, and would like to read one of her longer novels.

I have been to the Convict Museum in Sydney Harbour and seen the place these ladies would have been taken on their arrival, and have lots of family who went over to live in Australia, A cousin and 2. of my grans aunts emigrated, fortunately they chose to go, rather than being convicted. I have recently read Shipwreck about a girl who was the only survivor on a convict ship that crashed on to the rocks.

  • I’d love to read this – I’m fascinated by the real life story of the quilt, and murder amongst women on the confined convict ship

  • Karen Kingston

I’ve seen so many no spoiler reviews telling me they loved the book but not what happens, so I would love a copy to find out what happened.

  • This is on my wish list, sounds such an intriguing fascinating read and seen so many good reviews. Thank you for the chance 🙂

  • I would love to read this because of the setting – the time period and the fact it is on a ship are both hugely appealing!

  • Really keen to read this one!

  • I would love to read this for various reasons, I have never read a book with mainly women as the story characters, absolutely love a good murder mystery and I love it hat they are already on an adventure to start a new life due to their bad history. Sounds really good!

  • Love the idea of Dangerous Women 👊🏻
